Sculpture

Mark Irwin creates sculptures from steel, copper and bronze wire.  His work sits in the garden of icons such as Alan Titchmarsh, and has featured in a number of RHS Gardens.  He works from a studio in his garden in Pocklington, only a few miles South of This is Not Here.

All of Mark’s sculptures are commissioned, one of, bespoke pieces.  He specialises in sculptures for the garden but also makes smaller pieces for the home.  Most of his work is from the natural world, from pet dogs, to barn owls, to crocodiles to elephants.  The price ranges from a few hundred to a few thousand pounds.

You can see his work some pieces of his work at This Is Not Here and also at www.markirwinsculpture.co.uk or visit his studio.  He is normally working on one piece and has a few more to show.

Wildlife Artist

Robert E Fuller is one of Britain’s foremost wildlife artists. His paintings sell all over the world and his trademark, highly-detailed images have been adopted at home by the RSPB and the National Trust. Robert has exhibited in wildlife galleries across Europe and up to 7,000 people visit his gallery each year which is only a few miles from here.

A recognized authority on wildlife, Robert often appears on television and regularly writes about his wildlife subjects for The Yorkshire Post.

You may even see some of the wildlife in our field or in the village, there’s certainly our local friendly Barn Owl that flies round at dusk and dawn in the East field.

Wooden Serveware

STOSH is a small workshop based in the next village, Stamford Bridge, we stock some of their items in the cottages or you can buy from their website or even visit Helen and Adam and experience the workshop. They make wooden serveware and home accessories, from tree to final product. Only locally sourced timber is used, originally destined to be firewood and repurposed into unique items for your home and kitchen. The timber arrives as whole tree trunks which are then sliced, dried in a wood kiln, planed & straightened, sanded to a fine finish and finally treated with a blend of beeswax & mineral oil.
