“The Best Way To Find Out If You Can Trust Someone Is To Trust Them”

NOTE: COVID UPDATE – The Health and Safety of our guests and the team here at ‘This Is Not Here’ is paramount. The cottages are for the sole use of the lead guest and their party that are listed at the time of booking. We ask that if you are going to have visitors to the cottage this is pre arranged with us and is inline with COVID legislation and guidance for England.

We ask that you familiarise yourselves using the following website https://www.gov.uk/guidance/covid-19-coronavirus-restrictions-what-you-can-and-cannot-do

When you do have guests, it is your responsibility to ensure they follow the house rules and you escort them on and off the property through the main electric gates.

There has been a lot of time, thought and effort put into our luxury cottage and the whole concept of ‘This Is Not Here’ is about creating memorable experiences for our guests.

We can tailor your stay to suit you and your family so please get in touch and let us know how we can help. We really do not like having to set rules or enforce them, hence our opening sentence above, unfortunately for insurance purposes we have to ask you to review the following, read your booking contract and welcome pack, but above all this is to allow you to have a safe and memorable break.

Firstly we’d ask you to treat the cottage with care and perhaps a good way of doing this is treat things like you would your own. A few things for your consideration for everyone staying, (please ensure all guest have read and understood this section as well as your booking agreement):

  1. Welcome, Privacy & Security

A unique part of the cottage is how private it is, but is only a short distance to village amenities. The area is very quiet and has an extremely low crime rate, the cottages sit within a gated property and the area is monitored by CCTV for everyone’s safety. Prior to arrival you will be provided with your unique main gate access code and we would ask that you drive slowly when on the property as the very friendly dogs may be roaming. Wherever possible we enjoy greeting our guests personally with the keys to the cottage, if for whatever reason we can’t we leave them in a safe lock box, again with your own unique code. When leaving please hand them back to us or if instructed in the lock box provided. When you are not at the property please ensure you make it secure by closing all windows and locking the doors as well as turning all lights and appliances off.

  1. Inside

Please remove footwear such as shoes, trainers, boots etc when entering the cottage. The floors are wooden and can get damaged easily as can the carpets/rugs. There is a hand sanitiser for your own personal use, when you walk into the cottage please use this. The Cottage has an inventory list, please check everything is there and no item is damaged, we do check everything pre and post arrival, however if for whatever reason we have missed something please let us know within 12 hours of arriving. We appreciate accidents happen and all we ask is you let us know if something does get broken. For everyone’s comfort there is a strict no smoking or vaping in the cottage. We are happy for you to smoke/vape outside at least 2 meters from the property and away from the hot tub and patio furniture. Please remember to dispose of anything such as cigarette buts in the appropriate bins near the main gate, DO NOT leave these on the patios or driveway. There is a zero tolerance approach to illegal drugs. When the bins get full please empty and dispose of items at the bottom of the drive near the main gate in the bins provided.

  • Green = General Waste
  • Blue = Recyclable.

There are more biodegradable bin liners under the sink. In Jenson Cottage main living area the SMART television is mounted on an electric lift that is operated by an electrical remote control attached to the stable door key ring. This means that when not in use the TV is hidden. Guests should be careful not to store anything on top of the shelf that moves when the TV is being lifted. Equally guests should ensure they do not have any body part near the shelf when in operation i.e. opening or closing. Again in Jenson Cottage, the Club chair is near the underneath of the staircase so please mind your head when sitting or getting up out of it. Please do not adjust the thermostats on the radiators or on the wall. The Cottage is very well insulated and benefits from Ground Source Heating and Green electricity. The fires can be used with the fuel provided, this should only be operated by an adult and gets very hot very quickly. Please take extra care when in use and ensure you have read the instructions for use.

Please do not climb on any furniture.

There is a fire blanket, fire extinguisher, first aid kit and torch under the kitchen sink.

  1. Pets

We welcome well behaved pets, however we would ask that they are not allowed on the beds as they can easily mark the linen and are never left in the cottage alone. Please clean up after your pet, bags provided and dispose in the Green bins. There is also an outside hose for washing muddy paws.

  1. Patio Area

Please take extra care when walking around the patio areas, especially on any steps. In extreme weather the area can become slippery. Please be considerate to surrounding properties, in open fields noise can travel far. There is a log burner/oven and gas BBQ for your use and ensure you have read the operating instructions. Please take care when using as both get very hot. If you could ensure the gas is switched off after each use.

Please do not move or dismantle any of the patio furniture, this is likely to cause damage. Climbing on any gates, railings, BBQ area is strictly forbidden for your own safety.

The outdoor living area (Pizza Oven, BBQ and Firepit) near Lola Summerhouse is not to be used unless prior consent is given.

  1. Hot Tub

Prior to any guest using the hot tub they MUST read and follow the guidance below; this is for everyone’s safety and comfort. The hot tub is serviced annually by the manufacturers approved supplier. The Hot Tub is drained, cleaned and refilled after each stay, a bacteria and water quality test is then carried out and recorded. Water quality readings are taken and recorded daily to monitor PH and Bromine levels (we use Bromine instead of Chlorine). 4.1 No guest should use the hot tub alone and a maximum of 4 guests in the hot tub at any one time. Children must be supervised at all times. It is not recommended that children under the age of 7 be allowed in the hot tub as they may struggle to regulate their body temperature. Please no pets in the hot tub! 4.2 Guests should take a shower prior to using it. No make up or lotions such as suntan, after sun, fake tan should be applied to the body and no lotions/soaps put into the hot tub before or during use. These could damage the hot tub and a specialist team from the manufacturers will have to be called out to drain and deep clean all the internal pipework. 4.3 Please ensure the insulated lid is fully open prior to getting in and should never be partly closed when anyone is in the hot tub. Extra care should be taken when climbing in and out of the hot tub or when moving around the 2 levels of the courtyard (the patio and hot tub steps and surrounding area can become slippery). Please do not run in the courtyard, when the hot tub is not in use close the insulated lid as this will help maintain the water temperature. 4.4 The temperature is set to 38-40 degrees centigrade and bathing should be limited to 20 minutes maximum. It is possible to alter this temperature downwards, but please be aware it can take significant time for the water to cool and also heat back up. 4.5 Guests who are pregnant, or have Heart disease, diabetes, low or high blood pressure or any serious illness should not use the hot tub without prior consultation with their doctor, if in doubt please consult your him or her. Avoid using the hot tub immediately after exercise and please do not dive or jump in and never immerse your head under the water or drink the water. 4.6 Strictly no glass near the hot tub, please use the special plastic beer, gin or champagne glasses provided. Heat of a hot tub speeds up the effects of alcohol and can cause sleepiness, drowsiness or raise/lower blood pressure. 4.7 Beware that inserting body parts such as fingers and toes in the numerous jets may cause harm. They have internal fans that spin very fast. 4.8 If whilst in the hot tub you need to get out to use the bathroom, please dry yourself down prior to entering the cottage. 4.9 In an emergency please call 999 4.10 Please do not use the hot tub during a thunderstorm. 4.11 We have tried to think of all eventualities and only write these rules for your own safety, however you use the Hot tub at your own risk and we ask you take sensible precautions, remembering your safety starts with you. 4.12 Failure to comply with these rules could result in the hot tub being decommissioned during your stay due to poor water quality.

  1. Please turn all lights off during the day or when you go out and ensure all windows are shut and doors locked.
  2. And finally please leave the cottage in the condition you found it in, but above all, enjoy your stay and if you need anything or have any concerns please let us know, we are more than happy to help.

* Lola Summerhouse does not have a hot tub or log burner/oven and gas BBQ. To hire the outdoor living area please tick the box at booking.
